TIG Jam: Winnipeg - 2010


On Friday, May 28 to Sunday, May 30, 2010 Alec Holowka from Infinite Ammo along with support from Fortune Cat Games Studio, New Media Manitoba, and Matthew Wegner organinzed a TIG Jam at Fortune Cat Games Studio. Below is a showcase of that Jam from Winnipegers James Swirsky and Lisanne Pajot from Indie Game: The Movie.

"Indie Game: The Movie recently went to TIG Jam: Winnipeg. A TIGJam or 'game jam' is basically a bunch of game developers, gathering together for a weekend full of coding, designing and knowledge swapping. It's rather intense in nature, filled with some serious work, serious fun and decidedly devoid of any serious sleep."

"The Winnitron was built to inspire and encourage Winnipeg game developers. By holding game jams, events where developers get together to collaborate on new game ideas, we hope to grow the city’s friendly and creative indie game scene. These games will be made available to play on the arcade"

The Room Jam - Winnipeg/Global Game Jam - 2011


Saturday, January 29 to Sunday, January 30, 2011.

"So what is “Room Jam“? It’s an idea I came up with a few months ago. Everyone builds their own ‘room’ containing its own gameplay, art style, etc. We then put them all together into one large seamless crazy awesome game. Players would then progress from one random room to the next. We call it: “So Many Rooms“."

PEGJam 2 - Winnipeg Game Jam - 2011


Organized on Friday, July 15 to Monday, July 18th, 2011 at Ace Art Inc by the Bit Collective with support from New Media Manitoba, and Ace Art Inc. Indie Game: The Movie: The Jam - 2012


Indie Game: The Movie created by local Winnpegers James Swirsky and Lisanne Pajot premiered on February 3rd, 2012. To celebrate the launch of the film local developers decided to throw a game jam at Skullspace on the same weekend along with a private screening of the film for the jam attendees. With support from James and Lisanne, Skullspace and New Media Manitoba.

PEGJam 4 - Winnipeg Game Jam - 2013


On Friday, January 11 to Sunday, January 13th, 2013 marked the last game jams run by the Bit Collective. Although game jams would continue to grow in the following years. Check out Kert Gartners 360 Timelapse video of PegJam 4 below.
