Frequently Asked Questions:
Q: What is a Game Jam?
A: For those of you who may be unfamiliar with Game Jams, the idea is to develop a new game into a completed, playable and finished state over 48-hours. While this may seem impossible, it is a great challenge for game designers and developers to keep your development scope focused and push yourself for one weekend to see what you can create. The lack of time forces you to put down ideas quickly and continue moving forward and we start you off with a theme to make it extra challenging.
Q: Can I work on the project I'm already working on?
A: You can but the process of creating something from scratch is a valuable one and is worth doing. You may even find it sends you back to your previous projects with new ideas and techniques.
Q: Do I need to have a team? Can I work solo?
A: You can work either as a team or solo. If you are looking for a team or have a team and are looking for additional members, we will help match you with others looking for teams. We'll be available Thursday night to help people find a group.
Q: What do I need to do this?
A: Ideally a laptop or tower with your game development software installed and ready to go. Alternatively, there's nothing stopping you from building a board game, card game, or any other game creation if you'd prefer.
