About this Event

This is the perfect class for people new to 3d modeling and new to Blender. Learn how to take advantage of the incredible tools and workflows get started quickly in 3D modelling.

When: October 12th | 10am - 4.30pm

Where: New Media Manitoba HQ - 62 Albert St.

Cost: $25

In this day long workshop we will start off learning the Blender interface, and modelling tools. We will build on these lesson as we work to creating a robot character.

Learning Outcomes

  • How 3d works compared to 2d

  • The Blender 2.8 interface

  • Creating our first model

  • The different types of faces/geometry

  • Different ways to approach the modeling process

  • Modifiers and polycount

  • What is Topology, and why does it matter

  • Using reference

  • Creating a robot character

By the end of this workshop, you will have a solid foundation for modeling inside of Blender 2.8 and a clear grasp on the core modeling techniques used throughout the industry!

Instructor Bio

Graham Wiebe is the Senior Lead VFX Artist at Tangent Animation. With the recent release of the Netflix original Next Gen, Graham has done VFX work for numerous films and games including mobile and VR projects.
