Ludum Dare 41 - Game Jam

  • Creative Manitoba (map)

New Media Manitoba, IGDA Winnipeg & the Winnipeg Game Collective present Ludum Dare 41 - Game Jam!

Event Description
Game Jams are a great (and fun) opportunity to network and work directly with programmers, artists, musicians to rapidly develop a working video game. If you've ever been curious about what it takes to make a game this is your chance. Absolutely no previous experience is required as we want everybody regardless of skill level to get involved and be a part of the community. We need you, whether it's your first jam or you're a seasoned vet.

What is a game jam?
A game jam is a hackathon for video games. It is a gathering of people for the purpose of planning, designing, and creating one or more games within a short span of time, usually ranging between 24 and 72 hours, and some even longer.

International Game Developers Association of Winnipeg:
IGDA Winnipeg represents game developers across Manitoba and provides professional development opportunities. Our Mission is to advocate for and support game developers in Manitoba by building a strong community and increasing public awareness of our industry.

Winnipeg Game Collective:
A community of indie game developers from across Winnipeg, Manitoba. The collective co-hosts an annual summer game jam with New Media Manitoba called the Winnipeg Game Jam “PegJam”, a monthly game dev meetup and many other events.

Ludum Dare:
Ludum Dare is an online community best known for “Ludum Dare”, the Accelerated Game Development Event of the same name (also called a “Game Jam”). During a Ludum Dare, developers from around the world spend a weekend creating games based on a theme suggested by the community.
